The following questions are consistent with Mary Baker Eddy's words on the first page of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (S&H vii:13-15): "The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity."

 

QUESTIONS

  1. When you think of the Apostle Paul, what positive aspects of his life and teachings come to mind?
  2. When you think of the Apostle Paul, what not so positive aspects of his life and teachings come to mind?
  3. Which biblical people were mentioned by name 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th most frequently in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and in all of Mrs. Eddy's other published writings?
  4. In 1881 in the third edition of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, what was the Bible quote that Mrs. Eddy placed on the Cross and Crown "Seal of Christian Science" for the first time -- a quote that remains on that Cross and Crown "Seal" today with the exactly same wording as in 1881? From what Bible book, chapter, and verse is that quoted? From what Bible version is it quoted?
  5. What is the Bible quote that Mrs. Eddy placed on the editorial page of The Christian Science Monitor, and from what Bible verse and what Bible translation is it taken?
